Krisnamurti Centre

"if you assert and I assert, if you stick to your opinion, to your dogma, to your knowledge, and I stick to mine, then there can be no real discussion, because neither of us is free to inquire. To discuss is not to share our experiences with each other. There is no sharing at all: there is only the beauty of truth, which neither you nor I can possess. It is simply there."

J. Krishnamurti

Can silence be part of life?

Friday, 4th September 2020 - Wednesday, 9th September 2020

From the moment we are born until the day we die, there seems little time or space for silence.  Life is a constant moving forward until it turns back upon itself and we age and die.  Are we ever really quiet? Silence seems to have a quality and a strength of its own.  Not subject to human vicissitudes, it has an action which restores our spirit as nature does.   As we have become alienated from nature, so are we alienated from ourselves.  This retreat is an opportunity to appreciate the resonance of silence and come upon its actuality.
